Freelance Video Production
Home base for me is San Jose, California. Most days I work as a Director of Photography in the San Francisco Bay Area. And when the job calls for travel, I'm good to go.
I'm a shooter first. But I also love to produce & edit complete video projects for local clients. I like to be a creative partner that's ready to tackle the details from start to finish.
I own camera gear, lighting, and plenty of tools, and love to work with them. I also hire-out labor-only.
The business of "visual storytelling" is endlessly fascinating, fun, challenging, and changing. Cameras have provided me a backstage pass and a front row seat to so many interesting people and places around the globe. It's an honor and a privilege. And it's an amazing real-life education every day.
I must say that I had no idea what I was getting into when I was getting started in this business! All I really knew was that once I picked up a TV camera and started shooting...I couldn't put the camera down. Every facet of production has fascinated me ever since. Today I am most interested in using digital cinema tools and cinematic techniques for all kinds of video production. Living here in Silicon Valley, I'm often hired to shoot cinema-style for local high tech companies that are interesting creating high quality film-style videos for both internal and online viewing. But I never know what shoot might be coming next. It could be a documentary, sporting event, or a segment for TV. I don't claim to be a DP for movies or big budget commercials...'cause that's not what I do. But I love what I do, and I love working with collaborative teams to create beautiful work.
Want to know more? Well, I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about my background, experience, and skills. Feel free to give me a ring/email/text/holler. To be honest, though, I would rather talk about you and your shoot or project. Looking forward to hearing from you :)
